A Company Rooted in the Kilimanjaro Foothills

Komteshane Tanzania Safari's was born in 2021 in Marangu — a small town nestled at the foot of Africa's highest mountain, where the routes to Kilimanjaro's summit begin and the rhythm of daily life is shaped by the mountain above and the plains stretching south toward the Serengeti.

We didn't start as a travel agency with a logo and a website. We started as guides. As people who had spent years walking the trails, tracking the wildlife, and watching the migration move across the Serengeti in silence. The company grew out of a simple belief: that the best safaris are built by the people who live inside them, not those who observe them from a distance.

In five years, we have grown from a small team of mountain and safari specialists into a full-service Tanzania expedition company — still locally owned, still Marangu-based, and still guided by the same conviction that your Tanzania experience should be entirely private, deeply personal, and fiercely authentic.

We Live Where You Travel

Our office is in Marangu — 45 minutes from Kilimanjaro's Marangu Gate and a short drive from Arusha, the gateway to the Northern Circuit. There is no middleman, no overseas booking agent, and no commission chain between you and the people actually running your safari.

We focus exclusively on Tanzania's Northern Circuit — Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Tarangire, Lake Manyara, and Arusha National Park. We don't spread ourselves thin across every country in Africa. This depth of focus means we know which camps to use in which season, which guides know which area, and which routes avoid the tourist congestion.

Marangu is the original Kilimanjaro gateway town. We have guided the mountain since our founding, and our team knows every route — from the gentle Marangu hut trail to the demanding Umbwe direct approach. We also manage our own mountain support crews, which means tighter quality control and better porter welfare standards.
