6 Days / 5 Night

The 5-Day Northern Circuit is the most recommended version of Tanzania’s classic overland safari. It allocates enough time in each park to move past the obvious and into the extraordinary. Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Tarangire — these are not simply famous names. They represent three of the most biologically distinct and wildlife-rich ecosystems on the continent, each delivering a completely different experience, each capable of standing alone as the highlight of a much longer trip.
Three Serengeti nights gives two full game drive days — time to follow predators properly, return to kills, and cover multiple sectors. The Ngorongoro rim overnight unlocks the dawn crater descent. Lake Manyara on the final day adds the Northern Circuit’s fourth distinct ecosystem: groundwater forest, acacia woodland, alkaline lake, and the globally unique tree-climbing lions.
What distinguishes a Komteshane 6-Day circuit is the absence of filler. Every day has a clear purpose. Tarangire is not a half-day opener — it is a full day. The Serengeti gets three nights, not two. Ngorongoro gets an overnight on the rim. Lake Manyara closes the loop with its own distinct character rather than being skipped.
Every park fee, conservation levy, game drive, meal and transfer is included. The price you are quoted is the price you pay.
Home to over 4,000 elephants, with herds of 200–300 regularly seen along the Tarangire River, weaving between ancient baobab trees over 1,000 years old.
Settle in with a comfortable first night in Arusha before heading into the bush — no rushing straight from the airport onto a game drive.
Real time to search the endless plains for lion, cheetah, and leopard across a full game-drive day.
Africa’s most reliable Big Five destination — lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and the critically endangered black rhino all live permanently in the crater’s 260 km² caldera.
The definitive introduction to Tanzania's signature safari route — three ecosystems, one seamless itinerary, no long overland detours.
Park fees, conservation levies, fuel, guide, and all meals are included. No gate surprises.
Touch down at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) and transfer to your hotel in Arusha. Settle in with a relaxed first evening, a welcome briefing from your guide, and a good night's rest before heading into the bush the following morning.
Depart Arusha for Tarangire National Park. Spend the afternoon tracking the park's famous elephant herds along the Tarangire River, weaving between ancient baobab trees estimated to be over 1,000 years old, before overnighting near the park.
Depart Tarangire and drive across the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, pausing at the crater rim viewpoint for a first glimpse into the caldera, before continuing on to the Serengeti. Arrive in time for an afternoon game drive across the famous endless plains.
A full day dedicated to the Serengeti's central plains, with morning and afternoon game drives giving real time to search out lion prides, cheetah, and leopard, alongside the resident plains game that gives the park its name. Overnight again in the Serengeti.
Depart the Serengeti and descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive across the caldera floor, your best chance to see the complete Big Five in a single day, including the critically endangered black rhino. Overnight on the crater rim.
Enjoy a relaxed morning at your crater rim lodge before beginning your return journey to Arusha or Moshi, arriving in time for your onward flight or next travel plans.
